We're developing Fableborne, a hybrid midcore game that blends base building/deck building with ARPG raiding. In this asynchronous competitive game, players engage in snackable, action-packed combat while raiding each other's bases.
F2P mobile first game with an ambition to find a new LiveOps model with web3/blockchain components.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Director with good communication skills who is self driven and will take full ownership of the game client development.

Desired Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in software engineering, with a focus on mobile gaming technologies and a solid track record of hands-on development.
- 5 years as a Technical Director or Senior Technical Lead on games projects (including mobile platforms).
- Shipped multiple games as a service (server driven, live ops enabled products).
- Experience with working on a project across all stages of development from concepting through prototyping to production and live operations.
- Experience growing engineering teams and great mentorship skills.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Unity on game projects.
- Veteran C# engineer.
- Good knowledge of backend technologies.
- Excited and enthusiastic about f2p blockchain gaming.
Responsibilities
- Lead game client development team. Grow the team and each individual through mentorship and support. Create and foster a culture of accountability and commitment within the entire client team.
- Lead client engineering best practices: design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, tools improvements (and new tools integration), source control management, and CI-CD processes.
- Ensure that future releases happen on strictly scheduled dates. Define, estimate and plan deliverables, pinpoint dependencies and risks.
- Ensure the quality level is meeting our expectations. Supervise and participate-in all projects from staffing, technology/tools choices, risks evaluation, dependencies with other projects to ensure the best quality is achieved.
- Identify and solve technical problems as they arise, including cross-platform issues, debugging, profiling and optimizing for reduced memory usage and increased real-time performance.
- Lead and contribute to architecture requirements, technical design, and implementation for relevant systems. Making sure that the delivered products are maintainable and flexible enough to change with the market.
- Research new tools, techniques and processes and how they can benefit the studio.
- Work closely with department leads to identify and set technical restrictions and ensure the team adheres to them.
